About Teila
What is Teila?
A licensing platform where productions and brands find and license professional talent for AI production. Agencies and independent talent set the terms; buyers receive a licence, a certificate and a reference image pack.
How is the content generated?
Productions generate in their own tools, within the licence; Teila licenses the likeness and delivers the reference image pack.
Who is Teila for?
Productions and brands working with AI, the agencies that represent professional talent, and independent talent who manage their own likeness.
Productions and brands
Are the people on Teila real?
Yes. Every talent is a person whose identity has been verified, and every reference image pack is made of real photographs.
Can we use the reference images in our AI tools?
Yes, in the tools you choose, for the licensed project only. The images may not be published or shared outside it.
Will we know the cost before we commit?
Yes. The total for each talent, including the Teila service fee, is shown before you commit, so what you see is what you pay.
How quickly is a licence confirmed?
Within a set timeframe, according to the talent's terms. Because those terms are agreed in advance, nothing has to be negotiated from scratch.
What if we need more than the licence covers?
Ask from the same project: the terms can be extended and additional material requested, with the agreement of the talent and their agency.
Agencies and independent talent
Who sets the prices, and how is the fee shared with the talent?
You do: prices and multipliers are decided by the agency or the independent talent. How fees are then shared between an agency and its talent stays governed by their own agreement.
Do we need to be exclusive to Teila?
No. Teila works alongside your existing business, and exclusivity is optional, not a condition for joining.
Can a talent turn down a type of project?
Yes. Each profile sets which uses are open, reviewed or excluded, and excluded uses cannot be licensed, whatever the budget.
What if we leave Teila?
Profiles and materials can be removed, and only records of completed licences are kept, for legal purposes. Licences already granted remain governed by their own terms.
The licence and its limits
Can a production train an AI model on the talent?
Not under the standard licence, which covers the reference images for one project. Requests to train a model are assessed case by case with the talent and their agency.
Is a reference image pack a digital twin?
No. A digital twin is an AI model or avatar that can generate a person at will. A reference image pack is a set of photographs, licensed for one project.
Can a production change the talent's appearance?
Only if agreed. The licence covers the talent's likeness as it is; changes such as age or distinctive features are a separate request, agreed with the talent and their agency.
What happens outside the licensed scope?
It is not allowed. A wider use needs an extension or a new licence, requested from the same project.
What happens when a licence expires?
No new use is allowed, including of the reference material. A renewal is a new licence, agreed with the talent and their agency.
Can a talent withdraw?
Yes, for the future: no new licences are granted. Licences already granted remain governed by their own terms.
Does a Teila licence make our AI content compliant?
No licence can promise that. It documents the right to use the likeness within the agreed scope; labelling, platform and advertising rules remain with whoever publishes.
Data, security and verification
Who owns the talent's images and data?
The talent, or the relevant rights holder, as today. Teila stores the materials to run the platform and deliver approved licences, and buyers may use them only within the scope of each licence.
How is consent collected?
Every talent verifies their identity and gives explicit, written consent to AI licensing, directly or through their agency, including the uses they exclude.
Who can buy a licence?
Companies: brands, creative and advertising agencies, production companies and AI studios. Every buyer is verified before it can license talent.
Can every use of a licensed likeness be tracked?
No tool can follow every copy. What Teila provides is proof of origin: watermark and C2PA content credentials show where a delivered file came from, giving rights holders the evidence to act.
What if a likeness is used outside the licence?
Teila provides the documented consent, the licence and the technical evidence of what was authorised. Any legal action remains with the rights holders.
